The Story Behind RC WildLens

A passion for birds, photography, and the wild places that bring them together.

Not long after, a trip to Costa Rica changed everything. What started as a way to document my travels quickly became a passion for wildlife photography, and before long, I found myself completely fascinated by birds. Their diversity, behaviour, colours, and the challenge of finding and photographing them drew me in and have kept me inspired ever since.

Today, birds are at the heart of my photography and the reason RC WildLens exists. Through this project, I share photographs, stories from the field, and the places that continue to inspire me across Central and South America and beyond.

RC WildLens is also growing beyond photography. Alongside documenting birds and wild places, I'm building relationships with local guides, lodges, and communities to develop small-group birding and bird photography trips focused on meaningful time in the field, personal attention, and unforgettable encounters with birds.

It's a journey that is still evolving, and I'm excited to share it with those who choose to follow along.

My passion for birds and nature began long before I ever owned a camera.

For years, I spent my free time exploring trails, mountains, forests, and remote places, always drawn to the wildlife and landscapes around me. Along the way, a few unforgettable journeys helped shape that passion. Watching wildlife roam freely across the savannahs of Kenya and spending days deep in the rainforests of Borneo, surrounded by orangutans, monkeys, crocodiles, and countless birds, left a lasting impression on me and inspired me to pick up my first camera.
